Technically known as a ‘spaghetti spoon’, this silicone cookware utensil will manage any long pasta including tagliatelle, linguine, fettucine, vermicelli …
The indents on the edge of the spoon help keep the pasta from falling back into the pan - a great help if you’ve ever tried to serve pasta with an ordinary spoon!
One of the problems with silicone cookware can be that its flexibility, which in many ways is a great advantage, can be a disadvantage when it comes to needing to remain firm.
This is particularly so of pasta spoons and many products we have seen on the market just don’t have the strength to hold wet spaghetti. They’re just too ‘floppy’.
This spoon is the exception. It has a stainless steel handle which makes it rigid enough to hold the pasta, while the silicone spoon can be used in non-stick pans and is firm enough not to bend under pressure.
